Fire Emergency Response

On April 17 – Tuesday last week – a vicious fire struck two buildings in one of the side streets in Ermita, Manila. Fortunately no lives were lost and no injuries reported, but in the aftermath of the fire more than 120 families were left homeless.

Together with other local organizations, A Million Voices assisted in providing emergency relief goods to those struck by the fire in the days following the tragedy. We managed to form a package containing noodles & rice, soap, washing cloth and – most importantly – a sleeping matt.

As the emergency called for a swift response, there was no time to wait for donations at the time of the fire. But for those who would want to, it is now possible to sponsor one or more of the in total 117 packages that were distributed. All donors may receive a photo of the recipient(s), but this is optional.
