Hearts of the Ocean: Seamen Donation
It seems like Christmas arrived ahead of schedule this year – already in November. This we can only thank the crew members onboard the vessel MVR Lady Guro, as they decided to donate their Safety Award of 2000 AUD to the many less privileged living in the Philippines.
The crew itself is very humble, and says that “all of us here on Lady Guro either live in the Philippines or have worked here long term and understand how lucky we are compared to the many people living in poverty here in the Philippines and are all pleased to be doing something to help those less fortunate”. Especially in the Yuletide season when the smallest thing can make such a huge difference – in particular to those who have nothing.
As “A Million Voices” strives towards a more equal and unified world, the crew is a very welcomed partner in ensuring sustainable services in our four target areas: knowledge, health, protection and livelihood. In fact, through their support they will be ensuring a memorable Christmas to the many inhabitants of Baseco on December 21. The generous actions of the seamen of Lady Guro will really give new hope to the beneficiaries, and proves that the heart of the ocean has been found!
