Exchanging Plaques of Appreciation

This December 16 the CMOBn, Civil Military Operations Battalion, held its annual Christmas Party at its headquarters in Taguig. It was a jolly celebration for the many soldiers who serve the battalion, as well as their families, and A Million Voices was honored as a special guest.

Little did the executive director know, however, that there was a special reason for the invitation. As the program reached halfway she received a plaque of appreciation from Colonel Buenaventure Pascual and Colonel Daniel Lucero for the support given to the poor community of Baseco.

At the same time, Miss Charlotte Isabel Johansen seized the opportunity to also hand out a plaque of recognition issued by A Million Voices to the CMOBn – as a thank you for the generous assistance in projects in Baseco and other poor areas in the Philippines. The battalion has through the 1st Community Development Company, stationed in Baseco under Major Nelson Dela Cruz, provided well appreciated helping hands and security.

The battalion is part of the Philippine Army and has a wide range community services aimed at stretching out a hand to those in need – such as awareness programs, health and dental outreaches and renovation projects.
