Health is Wealth

Year 2014 means the start of another interesting journey of A Million Voices (AMV). As it truly encompasses service and commitment, the organization is dedicated to continue and strengthen its advocacies, particularly in health.

Last January of this year, AMV health professionals visited all the twenty four (24) sponsored families in Manila to conduct a comprehensive interview. The team was able to get all the necessary information from the families, including the anthropometric measurements of all the pediatric members to evaluate their nutritional status. All factors that may affect one’s health were considered and included in the baseline assessment tool to generate a comprehensive understanding of the familes’ current health status and overall living conditions. Specifically, it aims to determine the knowledge, attitude and practices of each family, as a unit, towards health and wellness. The results of this undertaking will serve as basis for specific future activities of the organization.

With the inclusion of the all family members in the target client list, AMV presents a much wider coverage in terms of the delivery of health services. Because of this expansion, the families, as clientele, are expected to undergo and experience series of activities through medical consultations, health trainings, seminars and counseling, amongst others, to improve their well-being and practice of healthy lifestyles. Through this holistic endeavor, following the core values and strategies of the organization, it is aimed at providing the families with quality health care assistance, as well as ensuring they may serve as a good role models to others in their communities.
