School Supplies Assistance: School Bags and School Supplies to Nearly 100 Children

On November 24 everything was set for a joyous activity – handing out of school supplies to 100 pre-registered preschoolers.

Two learning centers in Manila were chosen after thorough research, and the enrolled students were to become the recipients of school bags filled with highly useful school supplies. Along with us for one of the two giveaways we also had our 8 scholars – who did a great job in ensuring that all children received their special bag.

The day started out with a hand out at a learning center in San Andres where a total of 50 students between 3 and 6 years of age collected their school bag. The second learning center was located in Paco and a total of 94 students became the new owners of our bags. The remaining 6 students were absent at the day of the activity. Our 8 scholars were present during the handout in Paco and all participated in taking photos and videos, handing out bags and calling the children from the list.

What each student received was the following:

• 1 school bag
• 1 drinking bottle
• 1 pencil casing
• 1 ABC booklet
• 3 pad papers
• 2 notebooks
• 2 pencils
• 2 crayon boxes
• 1 eraser
• 1 pencil sharpener
• 1 pen

The activity ensured that almost 100 deserving children received school supplies that they too often lack for their daily studies. It also gave our scholars the chance to help out, who were also responsible for the repackaging of the school supplies before the handout.
